It is with a sad and heavy heart that we say an eternal farewell to one of the people who helped build IEC USA. Gary Blake, one of IEC USA's founding team members, passed away this past Monday evening with those closest to him by his side.
He was instrumental in getting the U.S. arm of our business off the ground, and he left a profound mark on who we are: working hard to find creative solutions to our customers' needs. He moved on to Rohm and Haas/Dow, becoming Regional Manager, which allowed him to keep working with IEC, and his can-do attitude helped us enlarge our footprint in the PCB marketplace. Ever the consummate salesperson, Gary brought the very best to our company and to the industry at large, every day.
You will be greatly missed, Gary, and it is our privilege to have known you. Rest in peace.
On Tuesday, September 11, 2001 the world changed. We changed. The way we spoke, what we held important, the way we travelled and the way we lived all changed.
We remember where we were, who we saw and how we felt that day. We remember those we lost. In hushed, bowed reverence and thoughtful reflection, we remember. May we never forget.

Closing out this year's APEX 2026 at booth 4844, we presented special VIP Supplier Awards to Pluritec and atg Luther & Maelzer. Thank you for your support, your expertise and your commitment to this industry. It was great to host a booth with each of you.
The IEC team, our Eternal partners and our sales and business development team gathered for another year at IPC APEX EXPO.
John Clayton Klein, also part of Electropac, was a wonderful man and most influential, both personally and in business, for those of us who were here in the earlier days of IEC. We remember him with tremendous respect; he was instrumental in helping IEC become the success that it is. Rest in peace, John.
It is with absolute fondness that we remember Ray Boissoneau: his kindness, his dynamic personality, his fascinating vocation curating galleries of performance vehicles, and his years as a fantastic customer of IEC in the Electropac days. You will not soon be forgotten, Ray. Rest in peace.
It is with sadness and deepest respect that we mourn the passing of Steve Robinson, a PCB lifer who brought honour, knowledge, mentorship and class to every collaboration he was part of. Steve battled valiantly with cancer and other ailments. We think of him with fond memories of his leadership and kindness, and offer our deepest condolences to his family and to those who knew him best.
Congratulations to Zeljko, Peter and the entire Enigma Interconnect team on their 50th anniversary. It's an incredible milestone, achieved only by perseverance and dedication. Well done!
Wertheim, Germany: atg Luther & Maelzer GmbH and IEC USA confirm the order of high-speed bare board testing technology. An atg A7 (8 head, double-sided, high speed) has been ordered and installed at HT Global Circuits Inc. in St. Petersburg, Florida, and an atg A5NEO 8 head double-sided machine was installed at their factory in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The A5NEO and A7 testers use 8 flying probe test heads, multiple optical recognition systems and a wide variety of advanced, high-speed electrical measurement techniques to test all types of PCBs for continuity and isolation. Board sizes of 24" × 21" with small pad and fine pitch technology can be tested quickly and easily, with options such as 4-wire Kelvin, Hi-pot and latent defect tests.
HT Global Circuits is a leading supplier of advanced printed circuit boards serving diverse markets, specializing in commercial, military and aerospace products for the past 35 years.
Congratulations to Stephen Garcia and the entire team at Bay Area Circuits on their 50th anniversary in business. Three generations of family ownership, and still going and growing strong. Presented by Chuck Williams, Dave Brooks, Shawn Stone and Geert Breesch of IEC.
It is with tremendous sadness that we honour the passing of industry analyst and friend Walter Custer. Walt was a man of character and commitment, both to those he cared about and to the PCB industry. He kept up with the ever-changing cycles that PCB manufacturers, fabricators and distributors faced each year, and was astute in his assessment of where we were, where we are and where we are going. We will miss you, Walt.
